As a female athlete, sports bras have been a hot topic in my life. My sisters and I have tried a zillion different brands of bras for fit, style, support, comfort and durability. They are all subpar. I make do with whatever I have collected over the years. On the tennis tour, us players would sometimes sit in the locker room and vent about our sports bra woes. The dilemma is always that we had to choose comfort over support, style over flattening and suffocation that left marks on our skin. Everyone always complained of bras pinching the skin in weird areas making us bulge and look fat such as, behind the underarm or just under the scapula. The worst was when a bra was see through, not doing its job!
Many companies like Nike, have tried to create more comfortable athletic tanks with a built in bra for women but those things are pathetic, sheer and don’t support at all. A lot of tennis outfits are made with built in bras so I always end up wearing a bra underneath the outfit. It is so uncomfortable and tight in there!
